Mathieu Calmelet is one of the artistic co-directors of the LAC Project. 

Born in 1986, Mathieu Calmelet trained in contemporary dance at the Centre National de Danse Contemporaine d'Angers, from which he graduated in 2005. Since then, his career as a performer has led him to work with choreographers such as Nasser Martin-Gousset, Joëlle Bouvier, Olivier Dubois, Youness Aboulakoul and Béatrice Massin. As a choreographer, he co-created the choreography of Dance is a Dirty Job, but Somebody's Got to do it (Prix du Public Danse Elargie in 2010) and then of Stabat Mater (2012). In 2016, he co-founded the collective LAC Project, with whom he created several works, including the latest creation, Les Souffles in 2023. He is also a musician and composer for the choreographers Claire Jenny, Sébastien Perrault, Claire Durand-Drouhin and Sofiane Chalal.

But also with the group Angle Mort & Clignotant (Inouïs Printemps de Bourges 2018 and Résidents Chantier des Francos 2020).
