Popaul Amisi
Popaul Amisi is a dancer, choreographer, and singer born in 1992 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He developed a passion for the performing arts at a very young age and made a name for himself at the age of 18 by placing third in a dance competition in the Congo, marking the beginning of his professional career. He then spent more than fifteen years performing on international stages as a dancer and choreographer, participating in numerous festivals, including the Nyege Nyege Festival. He has collaborated with major international artists such as Baloji, Diamond Platnumz, Fally Ipupa, Young Paris, and Akon, as well as with choreographers Ula Sickle and Isabella Soupart. In 2019, he also turned his attention to music and developed a distinctive style blending urban influences with African sounds. He released several tracks, including “Coup de cœur,” “Kutchuku,” “Bina Nayo,” and “Confirmation,” which were well-received by the public. In 2024, his collaboration with Héritier Watanabe on the single “Chocolat” achieved international success. In 2025, he performed his first concert at the 360 Paris Music Factory, marking a major milestone in his musical career. As a multidisciplinary artist, he is now developing an artistic approach that combines dance, music, and performance.
