Guy Vandromme
Guy Vandromme is a Belgian pianist, producer, and conductor. He works in the fields of opera, musical theater, dance, and audiovisual art. As both a soloist and a musical dramaturg, he has developed an open approach to contemporary creation and hybrid stage forms.
He has initiated or been closely involved in several major artistic projects in Belgium and internationally, notably as part of Bruges 2002, European Capital of Culture, deSingel in Antwerp, as well as the Klankfabriek and act2 projects. He is also the founder of the Talklang festival in South Tyrol.
His work aims to push the boundaries of musical theater by exploring rare repertoires and contemporary compositions. His discography includes recordings dedicated to John Cage and Erik Satie (2018), Michael Pisaro-Liu (2023), Morton Feldman and Tobias Hume (2025), as well as the work of Craig Shepard (2026), in an aesthetic closely aligned with the Wandelweiser movement.
He collaborated extensively with choreographer Raimund Hoghe (1949–2021) and, since 2020, has been working with choreographer Isabella Soupart, notably on the productions *Stretch*, *Timemonochromes*, and the dance film *Drei Choräle*. In 2026–2027, he will participate, alongside Fabio Gionfrida, in an exhibition project developed in collaboration with KADOC, LOV2030, and PXL. For this occasion, he will create a new work, *Splitting the Time...*, dedicated to the theme of loss and produced in collaboration with several international artists.
